Implementing Regulations (IRs) C-29 I and C-25 P Implementing Regulation (IR) C-29 I. Delivery of Educational ActivitiesFarnsworthJacob As an internship training director, my only concern in this proposed standard is with the language quoted below. Specifically, I am concerned that without a discipline-wide accepted standard of what constitutes acceptable practices in didactic education, that programs and site reviewers will have no agreed-upon and predictable standards as they prepare for and undergo (re)accreditation. If this language is to be retained, I recommend additional language or other resources be developed and widely disseminated to provide some guidance as to acceptable practices. "Programs must describe how it ensures that its training staff are trained in providing supervision and didactic education in the delivery method (e.g., in-person, hybrid, virtual) they utilize."

Delivery of Educational ActivitiesAllisonGillensAPA Committee on Early Career PsychologistsThank you for the opportunity to review and provide comments on the CoA implementing regulations (IRs) C-29 I and C-25 P on behalf of the Committee for Early Career Psychologists (CECP). The proposed IRs serve to clarify policies and procedures related to delivery of educational activities as part of internship and postdoctoral residency programming. At the same time, it is critical to ensure adherence to best practice recommendations regarding educat... See Full Comment

Delivery of Educational ActivitiesMayra ZoeOrtiz Training and supervision should focus on preparing mental health providers to deliver competent services to a continuously diverse nation. Telepsychology and Telesupervision provide the venue to reach out to students in training and supervisees who provide services to people of color (POC). As a licensed clinical psychologist for over 20 years and being Latinx/e, I remember having very limited training and supervision to address the barriers and recognize the diversity in culture among my Latinx/e patients. It has been argued that delivering services in the primary language of your client is twice as effective and leads to less termination of services as the client feels understood and their values respected. According to the US Census 2020, the Latinx/e population continues to grow, and the projections are that by 2060 they will constitute 28.6% of the US population. Although they are the second largest ethnic group in the US, according to APA only 5.5% of psychologists can prov... See Full Comment
